Our Board recognise that good health requires a ‘whole of community’ approach towards addressing social, environmental and economic inequalities.

The Board is responsible for setting the overall governance and Strategic Directions for Your Community Health, including developing the governance policies that make clear the boundaries within which the CEO and Leadership Team will work.

  • Tony McBride head shot

    Tony McBride (he/him)

    Chair

    Tony has over thirty years’ experience of working in and consulting to diverse corners of the health and community sectors.  Tony currently works as a consultant and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Tony’s previous relevant experience includes being: CEO of the Health Issues Centre; a Founding Director of Community-Owned Primary Health Enterprises; and Chair of the Australian Health Care Reform Alliance). He has also worked in community health, a university, and local and Federal governments.

    Tony is a Board Member of Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network, a Ministerial appointment to the Advisory Council of the Health Complaints Commissioner, and a member of the National Prescribing Service’s Medicine Insight Data Governance Committee.

    Tony brings a strong knowledge of the health system and good governance experience to Your Community Health’s Board, and a strong commitment to create a more equitable, integrated health system that offers real person-centred care.

  • Alison Brown Portrait

    Alison Brown (she/her)

    Deputy Chair

    As a graduate researcher at the University of Melbourne, Alison is exploring how organisations and Boards can improve healthcare delivery. She also runs her own business advising organisations on governance and service delivery.

    Alison is a member of Women on Board and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds a Masters of Public Health, Bachelor of Science, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy).

    Having long worked in community health, she has seen the important differences dedicated community health workers can make. She uses her skills in healthcare and governance to contribute to Your Community Health’s reputation as a great place to receive care and a great place to work.

    Alison has lived in Darebin for close to twenty years where she has been an active part of the community through childcare, school and community activities.

    Director since 2016.

    Lis de Vries

    Lis is a local resident and is passionate about supporting services that are local, community based and respond to the needs of the local community.

    Lis has worked in Women’s Health, with the Tasmanian Council of Social Services (part of national network led by the Australian Council of Social Service – ACOSS), with International Social Service (Australian Branch) and the Australian Red Cross. Lis is currently working with Community Owned Primary Health Enterprises (COPHE) and part of her role is exploring innovative models of primary health care delivery and funding.

    Lis holds a Bachelor of Social Work (University of Tasmania) and a Master of International Politics (University of Melbourne).

    Director since 2021.

    Aram Hosie

    Aram is an experienced public affairs professional, and nationally recognised LGBTIQ leader and advocate. Aram is interested in the power of communication, connection and collaboration to create positive change at all levels – individual, organisational, community, and societal.

    Aram has a background in the health and social services sectors, and has worked across both government and non-government settings, with 15 years of experience spanning direct service delivery and program management, through to public policy development and advocacy.

    Aram holds a Bachelor of Science – Occupational Therapy (Curtin University) and a Master of Politics and Policy (Deakin Melbourne).

    Director since 2021.

  • Alistair King Portrait

    Alistair King (he/him)

    Alistair is a communications, marketing and engagement specialist and is currently Communications Manager at the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

    He brings expertise in both strategic communications and the public sector, having previously held senior roles at the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources; Department of State Development Business and Innovation; Department of Primary Industries; Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Department of Justice.

    Alistair holds a Bachelor of Economics (Monash University) and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing (RMIT).

    Director since 2017.

  • Cathy Lengyel head shot

    Cathy Lengyel (she/her)

    Cathy Lengyel is the General Manager, National Service Delivery with the Nextt Group. Cathy has a social work degree with postgraduate qualifications in business management.

    She has more than 25 years’ experience in management and executive management roles in community, health, disability and aged care services across not-for-profit, government and private sectors across the eastern seaboard of Australia. Cathy has been a Director of several not-for-profit boards and completed the ‘Governing for not-for-profit organisations’ course at Harvard University in 2011. Cathy is also a graduate and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Cathy has substantial experience and skills in strategy, leadership, change management and the acquisition and integration of new businesses. She has personal experience with palliative care, and is passionate about people in receipt of palliative care supports having the choice to live well and die where they wish.

    Director since 2020.

  • Alan Myatt (he/him)

    Alan is a proud Darebin resident and passionate about supporting the valuable local services Your Community Health delivers.

    He brings more than 15 years of banking and investment advisory experience to the Board. A Director at JBWere, Alan is also a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Tax Practitioner. In his role, he supports families, private foundations and not-for-profit organisations in managing their financial affairs.

    Alan is looking forward to working with Your Community Health to support its growth in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape.

    Director since November 2021.

  • Kerry Stubbings head shot

    Kerry Stubbings (she/her)

    Kerry brings over 27 years’ senior leadership experience in local government including as Director of Community Services for Knox City Council and various management positions with Moonee Valley City Council, Moreland City Council and South Melbourne Council.  Kerry also has experience working in public policy and community engagement roles in State Government and the community health sector.  She brings extensive experience, skills and an excellent track record in the management, planning and delivery of diverse community services. She was recognised for her leadership by being included in the Top 50 Public Sector Women List (Victoria) 2018.

    Kerry has been a Darebin resident for over 26 years and is actively engaged in the community. She has a strong appreciation for the diverse and changing population of the northern suburbs, particularly through various positions she has held in the past with Moreland City Council and Banyule Community Health (formerly West Heidelberg Community Health). She is passionate about the provision of quality community based services and programs which support and promote community health, wellbeing and social justice outcomes.

    Kerry is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Tony Wyatt

    Tony is a qualified and practicing Pharmacist, his qualifications and memberships include an MBA, Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and Australian Institute of Pharmacy.

    Tony brings experience in clinical leadership and governance, with board level experience across the public, commercial and not for profit sectors. As a local resident, Tony is very aware of the challenges faced by community health organisations particularly those in the Northern Suburbs.

    Tony holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master of Business Administration.

    Director since 2021.

  • Mary Zhao Portrait

    Mary Zhao (she/her)

    Mary is an Accountant and runs her own accounting firm, advising businesses and or individuals on their financial, management and tax matters. She also works in quality control for the leading accountancy firm, HR Block. Mary has an MBA and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia), and member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

    A former resident of Reservoir, Mary values the idea of providing for society’s needs without maximising revenues at the expense of the community.  She grew up in a remote, below average income household in China and remembers a lack of access to proper medical treatment and medication and is passionate about Your Community Health’s focus on good health and wellbeing for all and the provision of integrated health services that consider social, environmental and economic factors.

    In her spare time, Mary is a keen photographer and a reader of health, financial magazines, tax news, Chinese history and philosophy. She enjoys swimming, Tai Chi, yoga and gardening.

    Director since 2016.
