Languages
Your Community Health is proud to support a diverse community of people who speak many languages.
Supporting your health in-language
Our website uses Google Translate to offer you guidance and support in 249 languages. Google Translate adds new languages to its service on a regular basis.
In-language welcome packs
To help you learn more about us and the services we offer, we have created new client welcome packs. These packs cover information such as your rights and responsibilities, our commitment to inclusion, using an advocate and more. They are also available in the most commonly spoken languages in our community.
Translators and interpreters
We can arrange a translator or interpreter for any appointment or event you attend at Your Community Health.
To speak to someone in a language other than English, please phone 131 450.
If you would like an interpreter at your appointment, please tell us when you make the appointment.
Celebrating Aboriginal culture
Your Community Health acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our organisation is located and where we conduct our business, the Wurundjeri Woi wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We recognise their deep connection to the land, waters and culture and are dedicated to honouring their traditions.
We have renamed our health centres in Woi wurrung language to recognise the lands on which we provide our services and pay respect to the Elders past, present and emerging.
Our Northcote health centre is now known as wulempuri dhumba, meaning good health talk.
Our Preston (PANCH) health centre is now known as: balit wurun, meaning strong manna gum.
Our East Reservoir health centre is now known as: wulempuri barring, meaning good health journey.
