The wellbeing of our clients, staff and volunteers is our highest priority and in recent weeks, we have witnessed the devastating impact the proposed Religious Discrimination Bill is having on the wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ peoples.

We are extremely concerned about provisions within the draft laws that will wind back hard-fought protections for LGBTIQA+ people, women and people with disability.

The freedom to practice religion is vital, as is the freedom to live, work, learn and receive care without fear of discrimination. Our laws should protect each and every one of us equally, yet this Bill puts the rights of so many in jeopardy.

We oppose this Bill and are adding our voice to the fight to abandon this legislation in favour of one that protects all of us equally. We urge you to email your MP today and ask them to oppose this dangerous Bill.

If you find this situation distressing, we encourage you to seek support. Our friends at Rainbow Door from Switchboard Victoria offer a free helpline so you can receive advice and support immediately over the phone. Our clients and community members are always welcome to contact us for support when needed.
