Keeping Connected program is designed to make it easier for you to reconnect with social networks and activities in your area.
This program is designed for people who may have lost, or be at risk of losing connections to community. The Keeping Connected program worker will visit you in your home to hear about your social interests, hobbies and passions. They will listen to what is important to you and discuss options for outings or social groups.
Some options include:
- Visits to Senior Citizen’s Centres.
- Joining Neighbourhood Houses.
- Trips and gentle exercise classes at local leisure centres.
- Joining church groups.
Keeping Connected participants also have the choice to attend regular lunch outings to increase their opportunities for social connections.
It really depends on your own unique interests and what you would like to try. We will support you in finding activities that are right for you, and can accompany you to your first sessions if needed.
There is no cost for the work to support you attending activities, however you will need to pay for any activities or outings that you take part in.
