Aged Care Reforms
A range of changes are being made to aged care, in response to the final report of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
The Australian Parliament has passed the Aged Care Bill, with the new Aged Care Act becoming law from 1 July 2025. The new Act will give older people a more independent voice and the ability to speak up if they are not satisfied with their care.
The new Support at Home program will also start from 1 July 2025. It will help older people live at home longer, with home modifications and assistive technology so they can do it safely.
