GP/Doctor Services

Our experienced General Practitioners specialise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, aged care, chronic conditions, diabetes management, mental health, paediatrics, Refugee Health, Trans and Gender Diverse Health, and women’s health.

Services include diabetes management, care plans, aged care, annual health assessments for those over 75, wound care, immunisations, minor procedures, home visits and recall reminders.

Children’s Clinic

Our Paediatric Clinic provides high-quality, personalised care for children aged 11 and under in the City of Darebin. We support children and their families by addressing health, developmental, behavioral, social, and emotional concerns.

Our services include thorough assessments, care management, and tailored support for a range of conditions, ensuring the overall wellbeing of your child and family.

Refugee Health Clinic

Our specialist medical clinic supports newly arrived Refugees and Asylum Seekers, providing comprehensive healthcare and assistance in navigating the Australian healthcare and social support systems. We offer long appointments to ensure you and your family receive the care you need.

No referral is necessary to access our services.

We also provide dedicated refugee nursing support for your health needs.

Lymphoedema Clinic

Our Lymphoedema Clinic focuses on the assessment and management of lymphoedema, which is fluid accumulation causing swelling, commonly in the limbs. Located at the balit wurun health centre, we operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with dedicated assessment clinics on Thursday mornings.

If you are at risk or suspect lymphoedema, please request a referral from your GP for a comprehensive assessment.

Pathology

The Austin Pathology clinic provides essential testing services for our community. The team can collect samples of tissue, cells, blood, or bodily fluids as advised by your doctor. This service is available to everyone and operates as a ticketed drop-in service, ensuring convenient access to vital testing for the study of disease causes and effects.

Whether for routine checks or specific concerns, The Austin Pathology team are here to support your health needs.

Pharmacotherapy

Our Pharmacotherapy Services provide opioid substitution therapy as a short or long-term treatment for individuals experiencing dependence on opioids including heroin, codeine and prescription painkillers. We support people at all stages of their journey, from active use to recovery.

Committed to reducing the harm associated with alcohol and drug use, we offer bulk-billed services for opioid substitution therapies, such as Methadone, Buprenorphine and Suboxone.

Vitamin D Clinic

Our free, monthly Vitamin D clinic is available for children from all communities who have low Vitamin D levels. Held on the last Thursday of each month at our balit wurun health centre, this clinic emphasises the importance of Vitamin D for strong bones, muscles and overall health.

We assess and provide tailored treatment to support healthy bone and muscle development for each child.

Book in a regular health check-up

Regular health checks can help prevent you becoming unwell and relieve you of any concerns. We also offer a range of specialist medical services.

We give priority to people needing urgent medical attention. We accept walk-in patients but you may have to wait, so we suggest booking an appointment online or calling us on 03 8470 1111.

After Hours Care

If you need urgent medical care and our clinic is closed, please call the National Home Doctor Service on 13 SICK (13 74 25).

In the event of a medical emergency, please call an ambulance on 000.
