Social Support Groups and Activities

Social connection is an important part of good physical and emotional health and wellbeing. Our groups and activities offer a welcoming environment in which to make friends, have fun, learn a new skill and be entertained! We can also connect you with other social groups and activities in your area.

Darebin Men’s Shed

The Darebin Men’s Shed offers a supportive environment for men of all ages to connect and engage in hands-on activities such as woodworking, bike repairs, and gardening. Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at our wulempuri barring health centre, the Shed charges $5 per day, which includes morning tea and lunch for most attendees. All who identify as male are welcome to join and benefit from the program’s focus on health and wellbeing.

Exercise Groups and Classes

We offer a range of gentle exercise, fitness, and strengthening classes designed to support your health and wellbeing. Supervised by physiotherapists and allied health assistants, our programs cater to all ages and abilities. A physiotherapy assessment is required prior to joining.

Youth Support

Our Youth and Community Worker supports young people aged 12-25 in identifying their needs and goals for healthy wellbeing and connection. We provide individual and group support in a safe environment, focusing on physical, mental, and social health. Our services include information and referrals for mental, physical, and sexual health, assistance with accessing food and accommodation, and help with obtaining Medicare and proof of age cards, empowering young people to confidently access health and wellbeing services in their community.

Community Programs

Supporting healthier, happier and more connected communities through local health and wellbeing programs. Our Community Programs team works with community members like you to support your health and wellbeing needs with a focus on healthy eating, building social connections, and gender equity.
