Exercise at home: Sitting and standing exercises

Our in-person exercise classes are on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we thought we’d bring them straight into your living room!

It can be hard to be motivated to stretch and exercise when you’re at home, but it is important to incorporate gentle movement into your routine. That’s why I put together these videos with my physiotherapy colleague Angela.

These are adapted from our low-intensity, low-resistance, gentle exercise classes, so you can do them alone, whilst self-isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They’re ideal for older adults or people with limited mobility. But they can easily be adjusted into more advanced exercises. Try one video first – and if you’re up for it, add another one to your routine.

Let us know what you think! If you like them, we will add more shortly.

Sit to stand

Time: Under 2 mins (but you can repeat it as often as you are comfortable doing)

Standing exercises

Time: Under 4 minutes
